China Blog Entre Part 5

Had a meeting this morning with my China parts suppliers which is like an hour away from my apartment. Anyway after the meeting he decided to bring me to lunch. Well i thought to myself what extraordinary food am i going to feed on this time?

He took us to a olden designed restaurent that resembles the Chinese Dynasty palaces. I really don't know he said to the waitress but i know he said bring the best dish. Omg! The best dishes meant abalone and shark fins soup.

BUT even better than those. I had Duck's tongues as appetizer served cold. These tongues were kind of bigger than the other chicken tongues I'd had, so I asked are you sure they're ducks? For a while there was some confusion because someone suggested they were actually pig tongues, and we laughed, pig tongues would look totally different, probably like little cow tongues. But I'm certain these were duck tongues because I know the Mandarin Chinese word for duck is "yah-zi" and it also means male prostitute (gigolo). One that makes a ton of cash entertaining rich married ladies. Maybe i should consider being one myself thinking that I would need to pay for my wedding soon.

I had other weird dishes such as chicken spare parts soup, lakeweed vegetable, freshwater snake, tiny scrimp, claypot raddish pork, a flat looking fish and 2 other dishes of slimmy vegetable. I really like this lunch. Really my type of lunch and taste of food. Yum yum.
